Falcon Doesn't Succeed, We Believe Them This Time

This picture is not entirely accurate. In truth, the initial stage performed marvelously, carrying the craft into sub-orbital space before there was a glitch in the stage seperation thus "causing the stages to be held together." In a message to all employees involved with the Falcon 1, Flight 3 launch, Pay Pal founder Elon musk reassures us, saying:
As a precautionary measure to guard against the possibility of flight 3 not reaching orbit, SpaceX recently accepted a significant investment. Combined with our existing cash reserves, that ensures we will have more than sufficient funding on hand to continue launching Falcon 1 and develop Falcon 9 and Dragon. There should be absolutely zero question that SpaceX will prevail in reaching orbit and demonstrating reliable space transport. For my part, I will never give up and I mean never.
He went on to promise even more extravagant failures for flights 4 and 5, which are currently "almost ready for flight" and will most likely remain in that state when they push that big red button to launch them later this year...

But I'm not bitter...

Falcon Launches Successfully. Some Still Skeptical

Falcon 1 finally took off a few minutes before midnight here on the east coast, and it was a very pleasing, condensation blurred, two-and-a-half minute, video spacegasm. It almost convinced the most skeptical among us that it wasn't, in fact, all pre-filmed on a sound stage somewhere in the Nevada desert. Some things that made us scratch our head: Why did the camera go all blurry only a few seconds into flight? Why was there a CGI specialist credited at the end of the webcast? Why was Sony's Phil Harrison giving us the play-by-play? Some things we may never know, but all things considered, it's safe to assume that space doesn't actually exist. It's all a big hoax to convince you that you are not trapped in a giant dome as the subject of an elaborate reality T.V. show. Just a thought...

Falcon 1 Launch Delayed, Mac Can't Take Ups and Downs. Goes out for a drink instead.

If you are watching the launch of Falcon 1 tonight, we hope you weren't hoping for a prudent launch. After a number of delays, the spacecraft finally ticked down to T-0.5s before it was aborted. Apparently "1 of the 190 parameters is out of bounds." Not to worry though, this is apparently common practice for the Falcon which is in it's third launch and had similar problems during its second outing. Given that, we don't have to worry about the vehicle, and the latest update says the should be able to launch sometime tonight. Whether we get to see it or not, however, depends solely on whether or not the user friendly Mac OSX based web feed decides to stop acting like a emotional teenager. Tch tch.

Dr. Horrible Lives!

Reader Akira wrote to inform us that the three part Dr. Horrible musical is still online, to view for free, at www.drhorrible.com. It was previously removed from the site and made available exclusively for download on iTunes for a small fee. However, it seems that the doctor now has corporate sponsorship to rival that of his arch nemesis, and can afford to entertain us for free for a little longer.

First Post

And so, amidst the sound of crashing thunder and a thousand ferocious howling hounds, I have renewed my presence on the interwebs. Got some ideas for this here blag, and I'm very excited to share them with everyone, but for now a simple successful post should suffice. Cry havoc! The enlightenment has begun! Hehe ^_^
